The 1998 ceremony was captured on film in “Ghost from the Past” by Frome Cine and Video Club:

BBC Points West broadcast a piece about the lamp on the 14th February 2017.

As part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 the call went out for beacons to be lit across the UK. Frome’s answer was the Valentine Lamp.

The Frome Valentine Lamp has also inspired many local filmmakers, photographers and artists.

Perplexed Music is a short film by local actor, director and producer Mark McGann starring his brother Paul McGann. Some scenes feature the valentine lamp and it’s iconic post box.
